How does Critter Control handle dead carcass removal from inside walls, attics and basements? What can happen if carcasses are not removed from homes?

We handle animals in walls with a process of elimination to help locate. Use your nose to pinpoint source as close as possible, then we use tools like a probe to help find the animal. This is done by removing the base board and with a hole bit or key hole saw, a small 1/2" hole is made to fit a probe behind the dry wall. Heat camera's can do the same thing without having to make this first cut. Insert a probe and look for the animal; sometimes it's there or you will find that it is on the other side of a stud. Make another hole and look. Once you locate the animal you can then cut a rectangle below the top of base board. Remove the dead animal and treat with micro ban. If the animal has been there for a while you may have maggots to vac or grab; doing this will cut down on the amount of flies the customer may get, and avoid late night calls.

Other cases of animals in attic that drop down in a wall void can be extracted with control sticks, grab sticks or glue boards attached to a rope. This depends on the size of the animal being removed. If the customer chooses not to cut holes to remove, then we advise them that they will get flies and other parasites like fleas and ticks. Other concerns can be odors that make family sick or the vapors of decay animals that is similar to anthrax.
